A man's and a woman's paths came to a crossroad at the least expected time of their lives. Such moment lasted minutes, but it was enough to create an event.

He sent her his message, but one with no words.

The souls of an officer and a lady entwined in a way that no one would expect that what occurred during the night actually did; and what one would expect to happen... it didn't.

That officer and that lady came to a turning point that would put any man to hard test to endure.

This story has two ends.

A reader has to decide the course to be followed by a man. One is unalloyed, and he has values and integrity of a higher order.

THE OFFICER WAS INVITED IN, and to feel comfortable and at home. He offered his bottle of wine in the hope that the lady would approve his choice of a Merlot wine from Sonoma County.

They were exchanging words when the lady begun cooking the meal that she promised. More words were exchanged when he begun to set up a small table with hotel dishes and utensils. Wine was already in two goblets when the officer found online a channel dedicated to play music that soothes the senses. He eventually tuned in music that he wanted for two strangers that met for the first time two hours ago and were about to have dinner in the privacy of a hotel room to listen to.

The conversation remained friendly and amenable; but after a while, a few simplistic and a tad inappropriate topics for a man and a woman to talk about shortly after they met for the first time came up in their conversation.

The officer appeared to not be aware of it. He was, instead, concentrated on the bottle of wine; and concerned with its content reaching the bottom of the bottle if he were to continue drinking as if wine is a soda. The fine lady perceived every instance of it, but she did not connect the dots; so to speak.

Meanwhile, the officer begun to develop thoughts; but he did not make them part of the conversation. He was telling himself that if the lady invited him to her hotel room close to mid-night was because she likely would approve more than his choice of a Merlot red wine from Sonoma County, but also what he was beginning to want.

There was no congenial and courteous conversation after that moment. There was not rapport and not a candid affinity either. They chewed the food until he took her to dance as crude excuse to hold her in his arms, and to give her a kiss that must have felt to her fake and artificial.

Music was still playing sublime sounds, but nobody was softly dancing when he swiftly moved her over to the sumptuous and luxurious bed just few feet away.

The lady did not feel captive in a bewitched world. Instead, she felt vulnerable; and pled for him to not continue. She attempted to calmly appeal to the officer's conscience, but a quick assessment of what she was confronting lead the lady to become aware that the officer's determination was not negotiable. He was willing to hear what she had to say, but the officer was not willing to change his intents. He was convinced that he was on the right side of the matter.

More satisfied than when he left work few hours ago, the officer walked out of the room and gave a last look at the still gracious and refined lady of scarce qualities on the bed covering her almost naked body.

in this second ending, the lady had few but meaningful ways to realize
that the officer may not be what she thought that he may be when
they met. she could have prevent the situation from continuing.

the officer, instead, had one way of looking at the situation
that expectedly satisfy men that follow certain paths in life.

the mature officer in the first ending was unalloyed, intelligent, elegant,
and romantic. he was decorous and dignified the exquisite lady when he
turned late evening hours in a romantic event; and left the hotel room
before things go further.

which of the two paths the officer followed
is the path that God wants us to follow ?

will it be possible that God wants us to follow
the same path on everything we do in life ?

discuss it, ladies and gentlemen. discuss it.
