Mediterranean Diet Does Not Exist

By George Josserme

.

The common woman found in North America developed an intellect to conceive a diet as something she hears family and friends talk about, she reads about in magazines, she listens to in the radio, and she watches on TV. It is presented as such scientific marvel of the highest order, and she brainlessly purchases "the diet" in book format along with a poster to pin to the wall so she blindly follows a structure like this...

Monday & Tuesday eat foods 23-ΩΩ and 78½ -- Wednesday & Thursday eat foods 3, 22, and as desired of 99 Type 3XW -- Friday & Saturday fervently socialize everywhere and drink 3 gallons of water each day -- Sunday she will not eat at all, but she will pee a lot. Should the North American woman disobey the structured protocol, the book has guides to deal with major anxiety for failure to loose pounds and not feeling attractive to men.

In a planet ten galaxies away...

Recorded since 1300s ~and officially made "Haute Cuisine" by Catherine de Medici in the 1500s~ foods people on the Mediterranean French coast have eaten since those days gave them the immense benefits of lengthy and healthy life. In recent decades, medical scientists verified that the sensible and health-enhancing practices those folks naturally integrate into their lives is directly responsible for the desirable results.

The remaining of this article has two purposes: 1.- To change your health forever ~and your life~ if you want to. 2.- You decide if a "Mediterranean Diet" is what French people also pay for in book format along with a poster to pin to a wall.

* French Mediterranean Foods *

* French Mediterranean people exclusively use locally grown and seasonal foods.

* French Mediterranean people consume fish often, regularly, and throughout life.

* French Mediterranean people eat other lean meats as opposed to red meat.

* French Mediterranean people eat legumes in their meals few times a week.

* French Mediterranean people eat raw nuts few times a week as a snack.

* People on French Mediterranean eat bread with meals. They may spread Extra Virgin
   Olive Oil on it, and may also sprinkle on their crunchy bread Herbs de Provence. Good
   practicing on herbs may be found at How-To Of Herbs And Shrimp.

* People on French Mediterranean use Extra Virgin Olive Oil in salads with cheese, small
   pasta, onions, bell peppers, spinach, eggplants, celery, artichokes, hard-boiled eggs,
   garlic, mushroom, and tomatoes ~including cocktail-size~ just to mention some of the
   most commonly consumed ingredients.

* People on French Mediterranean use regular Olive Oil ~the less costly one~ as the oil
   to use with food to be fried.

* People on French Mediterranean eat sauces and other foods ~including their delicious
   pastries and croissants~ that may be regarded as fattening, but they consume them
   in moderation and savoring their superb taste and flavors.

* People on French Mediterranean drink water ~or moderate amounts of red wine such
   as 6 ounces~ with each meal [except breakfast] as opposed to sodas. Before a meal
   an aperitif and after a meal Cognac may be served, but to be drunk in moderation.

* French Mediterranean Cooking Practices *

* Meals are cooked every day, and eaten immediately after cooking. No left-overs.

* Foods and ingredients are very fresh, and have been minimally processed.

* Vegetables are not boiled in water, but steamed without over-cooking.

* Butter, margarine, or fat is never used for frying.

* French Mediterranean Lifestyle & Habits *

* They eat three or four meals a day: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and small meal between
   lunch and dinner if desired. It is worth mentioning that some of them dedicate one day
   a month to ONLY eat apples and drink water.

* They eat in company of family or others they feel comfortable with, they sit at a table,
   they savor their meal enjoying the affection of a candid moment, and they take good
   time to eat. Meals are not eaten in a hurry or noisy environments like Food Courts.

* They do not start eating a meal until the person that cooked it or served it is sitting at
   the table. It denotes disrespect for others, and show lack of good qualities to bring an
   ugly moment to a meal.

* They do not feel guilt when they eat. Instead, they savor each bite of a meal.

* They walk and have physical activities expected in active life. No jogging. No gym.

* French Mediterranean Do Not's *

* Do not eat in a rush.

* Do not eat red meat by itself.

* Do not eat meals with mostly red meat.

* Do not eat canned vegetables and foods.

* Do not eat processed foods, fast food, or junk food.

* Do not drink sodas or soft drinks too often, or any at all.

* Do not endlessly count calories. It is irrelevant, meaningless.
