1. Time It Right - Most older people have a clear mind in the morning hours. Younger people do so in the afternoon. Find when your best thinking time is, and set it aside for your most challenging brain work.

2. Get Good Education - Do Not Overdo It - Psychologist Mr. Dean Keith Simonton says that too much higher education can damage your ability to think creatively. He says that "You do not become a great novelist by getting a PhD in creative writing."

3. Learn From Confucius - Writing things down is the number one memory aid used by memory researchers themselves. Confucius said it well approximately 2,500 years ago: "The weakest ink lasts longer than the best memory."

4. Start Your Day Right - Research shows us 2 things: the amount of caffeine in a cup of coffee helps the brain to concentrate; but also that if a person is prone to anxiety, he is better off without it.

5. Relate New Memories To Established Ones - "Think of your existing memory as the scaffold upon which you put on new knowledge," says Cognitive Researcher Mr. Denise Park. What he means is to not isolate new acquired knowledge or new information, but to associate it to something you remember without difficulty.

6. Practise - Practise - Practise - A study showed that practice sessions helped 70 years old volunteers to perform better in Cognitive and Memory Tasks than when they were 7 years younger. Psychologist Mr. Len Giambra states. "Any well-practised older person works faster and with less mistakes than an unpracticed younger person."

7. Give Your Ideas A Chance - Most of us get rewarded for our ability to evaluate and to take quick decisions without making gross mistakes. On the opposing hand, Creativity normally demands slower and more leisurely approach. Use creativity to develop your own ideas. Even those that appear to be "absurd" may deserve serious consideration.

8. Find A Stimulating Profession Or Career - Intriguing studies from Poland tell us that people ~whose careers demand exercising their intellect~ are more likely to sustain a higher level of mental performance throughout their lives. Marrying someone intelligent, the studies also point out, may also provide a person with ongoing stimulation.

9. Use Creativity With Imagination - It is the power of observation wisely used to see one aspect of life and implement it on something totally different. For instance, Velcro was born out of observing how Sand Paper sticks to regular clothing. Also, the ring used on the top of cans was created out of observing how easy it is to peel a banana.

10. Learn From Leonardo da Vinci - In his book "How To Think Like Leonardo da Vinci," author Mr. Michael Gelb offers great many brain-enriching strategies that worked for the ultimate Renaissance man. One of them is represented with "Learn to DRAW with your non-writing hand," and that is all about "Diversify."
